I'm a senior lecturer here in the department of computing at Oxford Brookes University and I'm also the Equal Opportunities and Diversity Co-ordinator for the School of Technology, and field chair for Computer Systems, Computer Science (Systems), Network Computing, Computer Networks & Multimedia systems, Mobile Computing and Communications Networks. Before that I was a teaching fellow in the dept of computing science at Aberdeen University.

My main reseach is the application of AI techniques and concepts to real world problems, in particular computer security and digital forensics. My main current project is the PA3D project in conjuction with Nominet to protect the .uk WHOIS database. Previous major items have been SecEmail, the Brookes secure email project to develop a platform agnostic system for securing email, TIGON a system for fault detection and diagnosis in the domain of gas turbines and DaViCCAND a Data Visualisation Package.

I'm a keen open source advocate and have installed Linux on virtually all my machines and in the process earning the nomiker "That Linux Lady" from my students :-).
