The group is engaged in the design and evaluation of a range of non-standard computer interfaces including PDA based speech dialogues for older adults, in-car speech systems, avatars for attention interventions, natural language interfaces and new Web technologies.

We have been involved in the creation of innovative evaluation methodologies which are tailor-made to assess the value of the interaction from a range of perspectives. The group is particularly concerned with the process of interface design for older adults and the sharing of research results from this work.
